#to clarify: not a fan of making OCs not that I have a problem with them existing

(This is part of an AU and a LOT OF TEXT asdfg) WHAT IF.... That weird deformed shape of Fake Peppino (AKA Bruno) is actually that way because of a brain problem (known as TBI)? That would explain that peculiar way of behaving (Silly? Goofy? Childish? Doesn't think straight? Doesn't know what he's doing? Almost 0 common sense, that almost permanent expression on his face, that strange way of moving... He is doing his best to stay on his feet and not melt completely (even if it shows a bit), he can barely speak coherently, among many things (WE MUST PROTECT HIM).

I'd like to think that the brain is the only organ he has, because the rest is just... Mmh, slime? amalgam? xD, it could be a HUMAN brain that Pizzahead (his creator) got (I like to think he is actually someone insane in a bad way and too different when it comes to his lab, just pretending to smile, hints of psychopath), that brain belonged to another chef, here I clarify about getting 2 adns: Peppino and Bruno (this last I mean the one from the abandoned pizzeria and yes, he is dead, where the hell Pizzahead was going to get that brain from? Actually dead for trusting a humanoid pizza)

So Fake Peppino has 2 adns? Yeah, that makes sense... Although Peppino and him don't look quite the same (Although Pizzahead's goal was that, to be the perfect impersonator), except for the clothes BUT here comes my favorite part, his stable form. 

Actually, his brain problem can be treated, he would still have 2 forms: stable and unstable, this unstable form is the one we all know, it would be present whenever he feels threatened, in danger or any other negative emotion (although he can take any form whenever he wants and be a mix of both forms).

Some history: Bruno is the first "clone" to be created, it went well, everything was perfect and one more minion... UNTIL... Pizzahead has a complicated, abusive, stupid, manipulative and ignorant attitude, basically he never treated him well, it started with scolding and even abuse (And yup! it was Pizzahead himself who caused him great injury) Why? He is a demanding and perfectionist guy, the clone had to come out EQUAL to Peppino (the irony is that he hates him and only does it to fuck up his life, to be able to replace him with some of the SO MANY clones out there) at the time he thought it was a GOOD IDEA to mix both adns and come out the same as the original, I repeat that this guy is an idiot?

Something funny is that after that he made other prototypes of clones (Classified as second generation idk) but these... None came out well, they are aberrations and can be found in a frozen chamber, he doesn't want to relive that moment and kept trying until he finally succeeded, the famous Peppino clones that can be found everywhere in the lab, inferior versions, weaker and more animal behavior than the first "clone".

Here comes another problem, Pizzahead paid more attention and was nicer to those clones, making Bruno jealous and annoyed, he never received a good treatment from him (Still he was loyal) and he had to fix and clean up all the atrocities the clones did, that means ALL the time, he could not defend himself and lived in silence, developing a great hatred towards them, precisely his behavior changes drastically to the most aggressive, just hearing a "croak" makes him angry (MODO BERSEK GOES BRR)

Many years enduring physical and emotional pain until he ends up in what? In an abandoned pizza restaurant? Just him being abandoned being very bad in all aspects? Completely alone for years, the only contact he had with others were those clones that invaded his "new home" (explaining why there are so many peppino corpses in that pizzeria).

Bruno still has that silly and innocent personality, sensitive but at the same time disturbing if something bothers him. Paternal sense, playful and a big fan of Peppino, sometimes he annoys him by imitating him HAHA. Does he keep that frog behavior? YES! It's not as obvious as the clones because he knows how to control it. 

At the beginning he doesn't like to be touched, after all the problems he went through he doesn't even know if there are good people in this world, so gaining Bruno's trust is a bit complicated but if you talk nice to him (as you would do with your pet XD) the interaction will be effective. 

Does he have traumas? Besides he doesn't want to see Pizzahead and the clones again, or there will be a massacre, it's the first time someone is nice to him, he's afraid of abandonment and losing the little progress he has made... AND NEVER EVER SEE OR HEAR ANYTHING RELATED TO ANY LABORATORY AGAIN, his life was hell there, anything related either scares or angers him.

how tiktok failed the shifting community

& how shiftok keeps you stuck idk what to call this. 🫶🏻

to make this clear, i do not hate tiktok. i dont hate people on tiktok who want to shift. i dont have a problem with people on tiktok talking about shifting.

this post is not about anyone specific. ive sold a shifting journal on amazon. which may seem hypocritical though ive never made a promise that it will make you shift & its not supposed to.

!! this post isn’t an excuse to push all the communities problems on shiftok. much like the animal crossing community pre-new horizons, as communities grow bigger, its expected to bring some toxicity with it. problems exist in all corners of the internet & in certain groups.

however, there is a specific issue within the shifting community that involves tiktok & that is the integration of money & profit being made off of people’s desperation.

shifting was / can be presented as this alternative “safe place” & escape for people with serious mental illness that consist of not wanting to be living this life anymore. & that’s fine on its own. everything we do is a form of escapism like readings or watching tv. as long as it’s healthy, it’s harmless. ive touched on permashifting & sv!c!d4l ideation before but id like to piggyback off of that point.

to clarify for everyone new: i am not against perma-shifting. i am against some of the langue that is used around it. you don’t need to k!ll yourself to shift. this is what im speaking about.

when you have an audience that is deteriorating & only going through the motions of life, when your only desire is to get out of the situation you are in, is it extremely easy to profit off of vulnerable people. this fact paired with tiktok — where you get paid & your income is dependent on engagement — it becomes overwhelmingly clear why pushing out content that keeps their audience within arms reach of actually shifting. it’s more profitable if you have an audience of people who can’t shift & want to as opposed to an audience of people who can shift & don’t need validation from exterior sources. it becomes easy to ignore people’s struggles if that’s what you’re making money off of. there is a lack of a healthy viewpoint & balance within some parts of the community.

calling back to 2020 when shiftok was in its infancy, there was a lot of “pov” & storytime style content. there is nothing wrong with wanting to share your experiences but making “entertainment” is arguably much, much easier & profitable. keeping that in mind, why i believe the practice of shifting is so seemingly popular amongst a younger demographic is because it brings fandom spaces together. it’s one thing to watch a show & obsess over fictional characters & read fan fiction but to live alongside your favorite character & be equal with those you idolize, it can sound very appealing. keeping shifting as entertainment style content, it makes it no different then fanfiction & oc’s. again !! i have no problem with people speaking about their experiences / wants for when they shift but the issue is when people only focus on that & it becomes a numbers game.

i hold no issue with people selling their labor in any community but when you sell something with the promise to “make you shift” is when it becomes problematic. when you sell false promises & empty hope, you are also banking that your audience is desperate enough to cling to anything that reminds them of what they want. it speaks to how the creator views their audience to an extent & id argue is aware of the dozens of (mostly) children expressing their negative worldview that displays an unhealthy mentality.

this is why i don’t do general readings as frequently & personal readings at all anymore. quite honestly, it’s easy engagement. while not my intention, people often change their perspective & “make” things fit their situation. i hate hate hate to say this but in desperation, you can make a sign out of anything. this is not me trying to take away the feeling of internal knowing. to give this thought weight, i remember a while ago i posted a reading that was & has been channeled from a person in my desired reality. the comments were flooded by “i know who this is from” & “this is from this person in my dr”. i clarified in the video — the very first slide — that this was from a specific person & everyone completely ignored that fact to fit their beliefs. if you find meaning in something that’s great but when something is explicitly stated as one thing don’t manipulate it to fit yourself if it’s not truly meant for you. not every reading is supposed to resonate. by forcing it to it removes the intimate aspects of what is truly just for you. if everything has meaning, nothing has meaning.

circling back to my idea before, readings & “this message was meant for you content” does open the floodgates to tell their audience what they want to hear for the sake of growth, profit, engagement. yes, there are some readings that don’t pander to a specific group of views but those “stop scrolling this was meant for you, he’s thinking about you, if you see this letter or number it’s a sign & you should be expecting a phone call or someone to reach out to you soon” readings that come up on your fyp are eight times out of ten for engagement purposes & to tell you what you want to hear by using generic langue to make profit. no, not all readings are set up this way and not everyone thinks like this. there are plenty of people who don’t do it for money or attention. even if people did it for money, some people hold issue with that while others don’t. the like it or not, just make sure you’re doing it in a way that’s not making peoples mental situation worse & giving others false hope.

while not reading based, this sounds familiar when we acknowledge “shifting symptoms”. early on, people seemed to take them as being close to shifting & literally feeling the process of you becoming apart of your desired reality. now we know, all those tingles & twitched are only your body checking to see if you’re asleep. the name becomes very mis-leading when you take into that content.

the tldr of this post was when you intertwine spirituality & profit in spaces where people are desperate for something that feels larger then them, people’s actions can put bad tastes in people’s mouths. looking at tiktok, views = money. when numbers are given to people who have shifted & deemed influencers (because that’s how tiktok was pretty much designed) it becomes easy to see why some idolize to be like these people’s — “they shifted & i didn’t, they seem to have everything figured out, they must be better at it then i am, they must be special & not like the rest of us.” it creates a cycle of self doubt, unfortunately, while keeping you in the same “i can’t shift” mindset while these same people are selling a piece of them that you seemingly “lack”.

I ever told her to stop commenting like that and let people enjoy what they like and if she doesn't like it/hate it, just do not interact with them, especially put a negative comment. As time goes by, I thought she was already changed but after I see this post, I feel so dissapointed. All time I've been putting my faith to her expecting her to change turns out like that? Well, because of this, I think it's my time to expose her NOT so good side.

THE NOT SO GOOD SIDE(TW!: MENTIONS ABOUT P*DOPHILIA/GROOMING):

So, as the name suggests, She's definetly a Frank Marwey big fan. She loves to make and post about Frank, even make her own Monster!Frank AU that I was interested to. Did you know that she has 2 Twitter/X account? One of her account is a NSFW account.

Now, before we talk about the NSFW part, let me say this. She ships Frank x Lawan and Frank x Aiden(I think now she ships her DL oc with Frank now, But I personally know that she still ship these ships)

Problem? Yes, Frank x Lawan has a BIG problem in it. In DL2 canon lore, Lawan met Frank when she was young and views him as her dad figure. Shiping her with Frank is sounds problematic and might be considered as p*dophilia. Their age gap are TOO BIG even they're both are adults plus, Frank is Lawan's father figure and Frank is old enough to be her dad.

How about Frank x Aiden problem? Same, their age gap is TOO BIG to be considered as a couple

But Aiden x Hakon- Their age gap is tolerable, plus their relationship isn't Father and Son alike duo so it's safe.

Ok back to her shipping problem and the ACTUAL problem that I wanted to talk about, not just the problem of her shipping taste, but also she ever made a NSFW art of them. Do I have a problem? Yes, she ever post a NSFW of Frank x Lawan.

Unfortunately, the posts about that I mentioned are deleted. Maybe because there's someone who called her out before I did back then. Yet she still ships them.

MY REASONS WHY I THINK FOLLY IS WASTED CHARACTER POTENTIAL

I want to clarify that this is my personal take and opinions, with this blog im not attacking anyone nor im saying "yOu sHouLd sTop LikIng FoLly caUse I dont LikE Her >:(" Im just saying my reason while being an oc writer myself.

First of all, one of my main problems with her is her design. Dont get me wrong, her design is good but not for her. Usually regretevator characters transmit the vibe they wanna give, like Pest being the "edgy" one, but for Folly her design doesnt fit with the "dream parasite" idea

Like, her clothes for me feel WAAYY too casual, and the eyes on her thighs just feels incorrect (if thats the word) for me, feels like the "character design i made so people can make her fanart" idk how to explain it but for me it feels like that. Dont get me wrong, im not saying Folly has to have a ultra complex design, full with symbolism, I like simple designs too, but the problem with her design is as I say before, IT DOESNT TRANSMIT THE IDEA OF "DREAM PARASITE" her design feels like an edgier Bive to me.

Now onto the next problem I have and its one of the things i dislike its... her recently added backstory.

Tbh, im not a big fan of how they executed her backstory, for me doesnt feel like its executed naturally principally cause i feel that Folly on my perspective wasnt the "but she wasnt evil at first 💔🥺🥺🥺🥺" stuff and doesnt need a "tragic backstory 🥺🥺🥺" (cause lets be honest, people can be shit just for being shit) and even if they wanted to have one and execute the trope, i recommend to have used hints instead of... Telling things directly. Which leads me to my next point.

The next thing I wanna talk (and will be the last one for now) is that depise shes intented to be more like "horror character" its completly ruined by the 2 things i mentioned before. At first they gave us this mystery abt this weird dream parasite that we didnt knew what it was or why it was doing the things it was doing which is a cool start, but then they revealed her name, her design, her backstory, etc. I think what im trying to say is that they are commiting the error of revealing too much and as my friend said while we were talking abt this "the less mysterious = the less scary it is" like at first we didnt knew what it was, what were their purposes, etc. One of the main sources of fear is the unknown, which was what they were doing on Folly at first but then they revealed wayy too much and... tbh that made me lose interest on the whole "dream parasite" stuff.

So, the whole thing resumed is:

Design that just doesnt fit with the idea/vibes they want to transmit

Unnecesary (for me) sad backstory

The mistake of reaveling way too much

Hey, I have a question about backstoires, like- for oc's in a story or a roleplay. My question is: What do you do when you feel like you have too much going on in your backstory, but it's still not enough to represent your theme and your character's origin?

Really need help on this, and I love this blog, so please help me if you can!!!

Too Much Going on In Back Story

I just want to start by clarifying that "OC" means "original character" and is only used to differentiate author-created characters from canon characters. So, we only use the term "OC" when talking about fan-fiction, roleplay, literary spin-offs, or sometimes in historical fiction. Otherwise, if a story contains no canon characters (meaning no characters belonging to source material), all the characters are presumably original, so we instead use just characters, main characters, etc.

In fan-fiction and roleplay, since you are working with an original character who is playing against canon characters, you do want to be careful about overdoing the backstory. We want our OCs to be supah speshul so they shine alongside the canon characters--or stand out against the OCs of other roleplayers--but the temptation is usually to go really overboard, and that's a problem because we actually don't want our OCs to overpower canon characters or other roleplayer characters. People are complicated, sure, but we're not that complicated. The important things about your character should be able to be boiled down into a backstory that's not overblown and inflated. So, look at everything you have so far and be honest with yourself about what really needs to be there. For every element, ask, "If I take this away, will readers still understand this character?" For anything where the answer isn't a resounding "yes," you can probably ditch it.

In original fiction, we have a little more wiggle room to have bigger back stories, but we still need to make sure another character's back story doesn't outshine the protagonist's back story. And we still need to make sure most of what's there needs to be there. Once again, you can ask yourself "does this need to be here in order for the reader to understand the story?" Or, in other words, if you take the element away, is there anything in the story that won't make sense? If not, you can generally ditch it.

Issues I had with Meiko's writing (coming from a former fan of Meiko)

One of the things I disliked while watching the Digimon Adventure Tri movies is that Meiko (the new character for the films) took WAY more focus than the original 8 Digidestined/chosen children. Unfortunately, as well as the burning answer on what happened to the Zero 2 kids (Daisuke/Davis, Miyako/Yolei, Ken, and Iori/Cody) by having Tri’s entire plot ignore their existence until the end of the movie series.

This could be my issue, but I dislike it when a character archetype is known for ONLY being shy. I am shy myself, so my problems don't come from just having that mere personality trait, but having that as a character's ONLY defining trait makes the character dull to watch.

Also, while watching the movies, Meiko felt like someone's fanfic oc AT TIMES when all the characters they interact with adore and love her very much, and she and her Digimon partner are extraordinary throughout the plot's run. There’s nothing wrong with characters that are often well-liked. Still, when it gets to a point where any criticism thrown at Meiko or the situation involving her Digimon occurs, she isn’t given the grace to defend herself. Instead, we have other characters speak up for her (ex: being when Mimi confronted Koushiro, who, although on his part, came off as being too harsh when telling Meiko he needed her intel on looking for the source of the virus affecting her Digimon). In Digimon Movie 2, we saw Mimi learning a lot from her friendship with Meiko (which was excellent). But it's a missed opportunity for Toei not to have the reverse happen and see Mimi's influence impact Meiko.

However, at the same time, why can’t Meiko (as someone who represented a lot of shy people) not be allowed to step outside the character mold that Toei made for her?

Again, when I first watched the Tri movies, I would have gotten defensive at the hate Meiko received because I assumed people were just hating her for her personality. Now, looking back at the movies, I understand some of the alarming issues with her writing.

I feel like she was only made as a character just so the writers could give Taichi a love interest and further establish that the 02 epilogue is still, in fact, canon. Even then, the two of them lacked any chemistry.

I should probably clarify that I don’t hate Meiko as a character, but what has done for her character through Tri. These are just a few critical things that I had about how the writers tried to make her feel more like a self-inserted character (at times) by having all the characters around her adore her and try to make the character lack flaws. They also made it feel like she was only introduced for romance.

I'll have a much different angle of this discussion with more about the difference in writing for what Toei has done to her versus the perception of the 02 kids later

1 - do you have any ocs who can't meet, but would be friends if they could?

oh, i got one! to clarify though, they theoretically could meet in fact but likely never will; my general ocs with no strict setting i consider to "technically" live all in the same universe, although i dont tend to overlap them super heavily

this would be Ariane and Dune. they are the primary example for this because them knowing eachother very nearly was canon! the only reason i didnt ultimately keep it was because i think their "scenes" are juuust different enough that they wouldnt really cross paths all that often. dune just likes to go to bars and get drunk, while ariane is into actual partying/rave culture type stuff. i think they'd get along pretty well if they did start talking to eachother since they both have pretty niche shared interests and i think dune would LOVE the idea of attending parties like hes 19 again. i think ariane would teach dune how to dance properly. i also think if they met now it would be a terribly bad influence on dune as a currently recovering alcoholic, so lets maybe not let him relapse.

now i more consider that they probably crossed paths once or twice in their lives, but genuinely wouldnt know who eachother are - although if pointed out to the other they'd go "hmm, they look a little familiar".

i can think of a few other faces who could get along but not in as siginificant detail as ari and dune, who gets a pass for explict detail because i did consider making them canonically friends once.

for other examples; all three of my scientists, dr. distemper, vesper and dr. alasbaster could get along since theyre all autism central about similar subjects, although i think distemper would make vesper nervous lol. sheriff octozilla and phenomena would get along because both are no1 chaos fans tbh. and i think fig would really appreciate the company of sapling, since shes the kind and understanding type, especially of the guy with 5 billion problems. that, and her garden would be pretty incredible to him i think.

5 - do you have any ocs that either cannot, or would not be able to stand each other?

let me thinkkk

tick and diamond are their universes resident "time deity who is super out of touch with whats normal for a mortal" and would probably get really particularly protective about having to share that role with another person. especially tick. tick would probably win this fight though, because tick is violent indiscriminantly in a way diamond is not (diamond is fucked up and evil but more in a possessive/abusive way than in a "kills people for fun" way)

caliber and mamba are both the exact same archetype (someone gave this paranoid freak a gun) and would have a dynamic wherein they both make eachother EXTRA paranoid and have to point those guns at eachother constantly

edgar kevin and lydia, while a little bit sympathetic to their plight, would collectively think its funny as hell to antagonize larynx tympanic and sclera. triplet on triplet violence.

I am just going to clarify this…I have never been transphobic and neither has Nathan, what happened with my anime rant was that I was actually specifically saying I found it odd that some anime tf writers used two pronouns, I was not refering to anyone and I am not lying to cover up my own ass here, what I am saying is the truth. The only reason I didn't like the anime tfs I had read is because of the mind changes, look I have nothing against commissions, far from it, it's just stuff like character tfs where the victim's mind shifts and stuff like Avianine's work that makes me hate those kind of transformation.

I know Avianine's fans love commissioning their OCs to be her latest victims but I view that they all portray their OCs as to stupid to know any better, I mean come on…Deiser gets his human OC transformed by her almost every time and he should have by now not to touch items she owns or makes. Here's the thing, when Nathan commented on those pictures he was in character and he admits he is ashamed to admit he liked Avianine's work. He used to like it up until she started doing Changed, Avianine called him out for not liking her Changed stuff and called him bossy. Excuse me? Bossy? I'm sorry but Nathan only said he hates Puro related shit popping up on Deviantart and finds Changed to be creepy and overrated, and it's not like that comic got any better ever. Oh look, a random victim who likely is the commission er's OC standing around, oh look there's Ciel as Puro, oh look, here she comes, here she comes to strip them of their identity, oh no…Ciel is forcibly transfurring them and erasing their minds, oh gee look at them now they're transfurs and obey her every command.

Oh yeah how do I say this? They were all the same thing. A dragon OC turns up only to be turned into a non-flying transfur, we don't see him again afterwards. Brainy Kong's human counterpart turns up, he gets transfurred, and we don't see him again afterwards. There's a subplot about Ciel as Puro needing a host, that never gets brought up again. Oh look, there's a squiddog transformation, squid-dog transfur doesn't appear again afterwards. I could go on and on. Look, having a different opinion isn't harrassment. I dislike Forrest Gump, but do I hear people going 'Oh my god, you hate Forrest Gump, you're Tom Hanks-phobic!'? No I don't.

And before you say 'But doesn't Mel forcibly transform people against their will and brainwash them too?', I am going to say no because she is the opposite of Ciel, Ciel is clearly a villainous character who is viewed as a good person even though she does horribly shit to other people and forcibly transforms others regardless, and Mel is actually good, she is a good person who is sometimes villified or viewed as a pest because of her actions even though she's the city's heroine and she has to stop evil-doers in the monster world, she only punishes criminals and villains and is polite when it comes to transforming people. Mel wouldn't go up to someone and force someone to be stuck as a Pokemon, well she used to exclusively do it to people she didn't like, but specifically only people who have harmed her or her friends, or just characters she hates in general like the clown fetish guy or the world domination obsessed guy. And if she actually did go after anyone online, it was mainly uses on the Deviantart forum who in the past were assholes to Nathan just because Nathan, even on the praise forum he had this problem. Like one user who very much said that he was a 'tool' for roleplaying and did a bad joke to prove it…because hurr hurr get it, 'you should identify as a nail and a board because you're a tool, get it?'

And the stupid person who very much mocked him for a story he did which he admitted came out terrible due to what happened with one of his previous computers, you see that story was written on one of his previous computers before that computer crashed and he got hacked, hence why it came out a bit rushed in the end. He had no control over that really.

I simply must explain that what I said in my anime tf rant in its original form was a mistake and I admit I was being ignorant as to what being trans or bigender meant as I wasn't clued up, have I made a few mistakes like that in the past…yes, I have, but I learn. And also I am going to say this, people who act like using a character to vent is cowardly are stupid, like if you don't care about these rants why do you even bother commentating on them? Why do you act like there is a damn point to make in these? Look, this is a comedy rant show NOT a documentary. If you want a thorough intellectual indepth look at something or someone, just go on Youtube and watch video essays, I am not an essay writer, I don't 'write thoughtful analysises' I don't 'give TED talks', I don't do 'video essays', I am not here to give you insight on anything. This is a comedy show.

A comedy show with rather subjective material, yes but still a show. Here's the thing, if these people truly didn't care about my rants they wouldn't have commented on the first place, also I don't get how these people think 'vent art' is cowardly, like what is wrong with using a character to express your feelings? Yes I know using an avatar of a fictional character or a real person instead of a photo of yourself is an entirely different thing, but I didn't need to be lectured on it or given the 'cancer culture' treatment because of it.

I am just saying…wrestlers use personas, musicians have stage-names, actors have stage-names, reviewers have personas, it's common, trust me. I should be allowed to have my opinions. I don't care if these assholes have nothing better to do than to call someone a coward for using an OC, if they didn't care they shouldn't have commented.

Nathan's comment on that Pokemon drone headshot got a 'no one cares' comment on it and I immediately thought, well clearly you did care enough to comment about not caring about something that you clearly thought needed to be cared about. Here is the thing, Nathan was expressing his opinion, Nathan was clearly stating he finds drone tfs and drones to be creepy and also overrated, and the shark one…yeah, i'm sorry but he's right about sharks being an overrated tf species, like with bears.

It's like the only fish species to tf into that some people can think is a shark and that's it, probably because they think sharks are badass. Sorry, but Jaws lied to you. There are other fish species to tf into. I am going to give you this re-made version of my anime character tf rant to clarify things: 'These stories in question are commissioned to almost always be the same thing, some YCH of the artist who comissioned it being forcibly turned into an anime character and losing their minds to the transformation, please note I am not against the gender identities of any of these people, I am simply objecting to how these stories are done, if the artist asks for this, sure, I can buy that but there are some people who don't like mind changes who might be turned off by these type of stories. At the time of the original rant I wasn't familiar with the animes being used for the store so I apologize for being ignorant and stupid about it. I am just saying to those who don't like losing their minds, could they maybe get a version for them? The stories are decent, well-written, I just don't like the mind change element.'

Serial Adoption is Hereditary: The Series.

(Yes another series. Look, I have a very short attention span- I feel like most of y'all can relate- and I like to switch between various projects so I don't get too bored and drop them. Ya know?)

I’ve been using this as a tag for a couple of posts I’ve made about Damian inheriting Bruce��s habit of adopting people, but I actually came up with the concept for this series a few years ago.

I was pretty annoyed when instead of giving Damian an actual team of his own, DC just gave him the Teen Titans. They didn’t even try introducing new characters. They pretty much just copy/pasted Dick’s team (I know he has the makings of his own team now). Which unfortunately seems to be a theme with Damian and pretty much every Robin after Dick because DC writers don’t really seem to know what the word “creativity” means.

But anyway, I saw a post a million years ago (idk who it was by, sorry) about Damian finding and helping other kids who’s parents are criminals and helping them out cause he knows what it’s like to be in that situation- yada, yada. And thus the idea of a series where Damian collects various villain kids was born. (Disney's Descendants may have had some influence as well but I will neither confirm nor deny such claims)

I haven’t quite decided what to call them as a team yet (I’m stuck between The Renegades and The Rogues) as the whole point of the series is that Damian is just kinda collecting these kids as he find them with no real intentions of creating his own team or even training them how to fight. He just knows they need a safe space, he provides that, and then shit happens. But I do eventually want them to have their own name because team names are cool.

But I digress; Here is the team roster (might add some characters later but this seems to be the main few that I tend to settle on):

Why does m!fenhawke pisses you so much? You really hate the fact that your pixel boyfriend like other men don't you? Your weirdo

Okay, so I'm gonna make it very clear that I am aware, given the nature of this ask, that you don't actually care about my reasoning behind my (yes present!) bitterness towards M!FenHawke, and just want to #own me with a tumblr ask. But I have needed an excuse to talk about this so, thanks for providing it, even if it is on the wrong blog (right blog -> @high-dragon-bait for future complaints)

I'm not pissed off by M!FenHawke (for the most part.) Fenris' bisexuality is incredibly important to me. In my own canon, I have him marry a man years after my Hawke dies (his name is Lucien he's a short king and I love him). I am pissed off by M!Hawke. Just in general. Full stop

And yes, it is petty!

The Dragon Age fandom has a serious misogyny problem. No one likes to admit it, but my GOD is it bad. And before anyone tries it, I am talking solely about the fanbase, that is, the treatment of real people in the fandom. This is not about NPCs, and this is not about F/F ships, though this problem hurts both of those factors, I am SOLELY talking about the treatment of female or perceived female fans by the fandom.

It's bad

Like. It's bad

And this is reflected in the prevalence of M!Hawke. Not. Deliberately. I'm not saying anyone who posts M!Hawke content is deliberately shitting on female fans, that's insane, I am saying that the prevalent assumption of male Hawke is a symptom of the larger problem.

Now that's a lot of word jumble that could still be misconstrued so let me clarify what I mean. How many times have you seen a text post where Hawke is universally referred to as "he?" How many times have you seen a post that calls Hawke "Garrett" not like that posters OC, but like the canon name of the character? How many times have you seen Hawke's "canon" gender assumed male despite this being a game with a customizable protagonist that does not have a canon gender?

More times than you've seen Hawke is universally referred to as "she" or called "Marian" in the same manner. I promise you. Those posts exist, but they PALE in numbers to the previous posts

You don't see this with the other protagonists, the Inquisitor or The Warden. At least not as much, you will sometimes see the Warden referred to with a gendered pronoun (he/she), but not with the same ubiquity as you see male Hawke.

And obviously, obviously, OBVIOUSLY, it is hard to tell whether this is being done with the intent of the ubiquitous assumption or is just done by someone talking about their own canon. I cannot say I have magic eye lasers that let me see the poster's intent. I don't. I can say that I've seen much much more content of male Hawke over female Hawke. I can say I've seen female Hawke brushed aside or ignored in favor of male Hawke. I can say that I was harassed back in 2014 and saw other users around that time harassed for DARING to romance Fenris with a female Hawke DESPITE Fenris being canonically bisexual (Because otherwise he would not have been allowed in Kirkwall without a $10 fee)

All of that... is rooted in misogyny. I'm sorry. It just is. With a healthy dose of biphobia on the side. You can be uncomfortable with that and argue it all you want. It does not change that fact.

And this is not only seen with Hawke. By god it is not only seen with Hawke. Another prevalent example of Dragon Age fandom misogyny is the treatment of Solasmancers and Cullenmancers. Both of these are characters mostly popular with female fans, for obvious reasons, and they are also characters with some of the most VITRIOLIC hate you will find in the fandom. Now, obviously this isn't automatically rooted in misogyny. Both of these characters have extremely prevalent flaws and not liking them is perfectly understandable. I don't really like Cullen myself. But a lot of the hate for these characters, and the people who like them, is very targeted towards the fact that those fans are probably going to be women.

You'll see people who hate Solas say that he's just a "teenage girl teacher crush fantasy" or people who hate Cullen attack his fans for being "30-year-old sad moms." Those sound like somewhat catch-all insults but they ARE attacking the female-ness of the fan at their core. And that is BAD

Female protagonists are the ones most often called "boring" (F!Lavellan, F!Cousland), they are the ones most often ignored (F!Hawke), they are the ones most often ridiculed with their female-ness at the core of that ridicule before anything else. It's everywhere, and no one talks about it

And before you try it again, no, I am not talking about queer fans who just don't like m/f pairings. They are not wrong for that. If you are a queer fan who simply prefers same-sex pairings that is your business, it is the moment you are attacking fans, usually female fans, for playing a game the way they enjoy that it becomes an issue.

Because despite what Twitter told me when I tried to have this discussion there, misogynistic harassment is still not okay even if queer people are doing it.

About Me:

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time for this supposedly brief introduction. To start, I am an adult, 23 years old. From Monday to Friday, I work from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 or 3:30 p.m., and when I get home, I usually draw whatever I like the most. I tend to go with the flow of the song or the soundtrack I’m listening to. I enjoy expressing the characters' feelings, and I use the digital watercolor canvas.

I don't usually talk to anyone unless we have something in common. I’m very selective about who I follow and who I don't. I don't like following users who mention "pro," "anti," "neutral," and a whole list of labels that have been invented. Reading conflicts on social media only causes me anxiety and makes me want to cry.

I always like to share my musical tastes; they are my inspiration to keep drawing and move forward. I also like to think that it makes you curious to listen to them, and that makes me really happy. So, don't be surprised if you see a list of songs or soundtracks when you finish browsing my blog. Honestly, music helps express the character's feelings, even though it can sometimes be contradictory.

Fandoms:

First of all, it's important to know what series or movie catches my attention, as that’s what I usually post about. The main ones are Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Killing Stalking, Moral Orel and Komi San (sad version).

WARNING & CLARATION:

I mostly post my sketches; unfortunately, I rarely have a finished drawing, and if you find one, it's a miracle. As I’ve mentioned, I draw after work, and to be honest, I have a life, so sometimes I stop drawing on the computer.

I want to clarify that even if I post the sketch, I tend to update it with the finished drawing later, so I apologize if you've been waiting for too long.

I warn you that most of my drawings will deal with somewhat difficult themes to digest, so thanks to Tumblr's new feature, I will start censoring some of my drawings as a warning. I sincerely apologize if, at some point, a drawing couldn't be censored.

I need to clarify that if you follow me for a certain series or movie content and suddenly see a drawing of Green Goblin, it's because he's the patron of this account. Believe me, I'm a big fan of drawing GG, he's one of my favorite characters. I call it a "miracle" because once I stop drawing content from a certain fandom, I definitely won’t draw it again until I regain that inspiration.

AU's & HEADCANON'S:

I’m a fan of AU's and headcanons; most of the time, I make drawings about that. I really love the creativity of people when narrating wonderful stories about certain characters.

I’m a fan of drawing ships, especially OC x Canon Character, though I’ll sound contradictory because I don’t like pairing my own OC's with canon characters—it makes me uncomfortable… but I do enjoy drawing other people's ships. I always laugh at how ironic I can sound.

And yes, I’m a fan of ships. I mostly get into a fandom thanks to a ship I saw on social media or heard about from my real-life friends. I don’t pay much attention to character details when pairing them, until I get so into it that, when I see a problem, I get upset. But a friend taught me something I hadn’t considered before. So, If you ever see one of my ships and think, "this is problematic," I need to clarify that it’s not, under the context of an AU I created where both characters meet and are the same age. I hate when characters have a three-year or more age gap… just finding out is heartbreaking. (Cry's in español... )

i know i blabbed lightly of this probably but obviously one of the things that put me off from mcyt for a few years was when the "rpf is bad" opinion started circling the internet more frequently, in tumblr's 2014-2016 toxic callout culture era. i think that era shifted YT fandoms as a whole and turned loads of ppl to presenting creators with their "characters" specifically (like i recall this early on w markiplier and jacksepticeye) and clarifying it often. but i find this all very amusing when 80% of the ppl dont actually play characters at all, and ppl are either just writing "rpf" or theyre just turned a creator into their own OCs. i think its sometimes just a way to not associate with the idea of rpf even if its like, right there.

like, the problem i think is that the majority of fans, namely the young teens that are the main audience, are very consumed by purity culture and being free of problematic interests in such a black and white way. i get it, i understand why you dont want to be associated with rpf. when i think of weird and uncomfortable rpf i think of.... fan fiction of the Beatles, or something. a band or a movie actor is someone we can easily define as "not a character" but... when it comes to mcyt, its a little more grey, because i know some of them goof around in games and do bits and exaggerate themselves.

and yet i still think its counter productive to get caught up in these woes, and to deny what exactly it means for something to be rpf, or have rpf elements. ironically i think the indulgence people have with making them characters worsens the parasocial/obsessive/skewed lens people have on creators these days. how? well its bc of how ppl get super attached to characters... comfort characters, kinning, etc. i love characters just an intensely, but when you apply this to a youtuber who like, doesnt actually play a character? even tho you wanna act like they do? .....there can definitely be issues in that and its def what makes me not get into the fandom as it is. you elevate them with your view of them as a character by being able to indulge in them way further bc they are kind of "yours" now. but also theyre not really.

but specifically back to the rpf vs not rpf topic- basically what i really intend to say is that like. there is harm in becoming too concerned over what youre writing bc you can fall into that mindset of being far too aware in a way thats just gonna make you feel terrible all the time (i experienced this myself when i was like 15 on tumblr and wanted to avoid any potential of touching something "problematic"). this post isnt to declare you are writing rpf, or you arent, or whatever the"rules" are about when it is or isnt, but just that theres always time to just accept shit as it is when the blurry lines arent actually doing any harm in this case. and that even trying to force yourself into the seemingly right direction doesnt exactly solve all the other problems either.

cuz i did all the things ppl would wanna call me out for and i dont care at this point. i wrote fan fiction where the guys where more characters than themselves, in a fantasy world for the server. but i also wrote fan fiction that was irl and based during minecon! and it was smut. and all i can say to that now is...ok. im not even gonna sit around and vehemently condemn it either? even if i never plan to do it again. cuz i dont see the need to punish my past self, nor do i see the reason to continue questioning the nuances of where the line between hard rpf and hard fiction lies with this bc its a never ending conversation. its just not worth my time to worry anymore. i know how to not be weird about it, i know my boundaries between creator and fan, i dont even get near the extent that some people do... i feel like im aware enough to feel like im not causing harm/can make logical choices when issues arise. i was a niave teenager before, and wrote such things with little thought, and had a much less healthy mindset about it! but the way the internet laid on the pressure of these strict definitions was the moment i felt shame, and as if i couldnt ever redeem myself from actions i understand far better now. its really not worth the stress and heartache to get so caught up in it.

I’m going to be completely honest anon, there was a bit of debate regarding this. 

While I’m fine with including fan kids and have come across plenty in the Ninjago Oc tag, and I know people love the oc kids they make for their favorite ships, I also know people can be very particular about what ships they interact with. I don’t want any discourse or problems to arise during this event because someone was assigned a fankid that comes from a ship they don’t like or aren’t comfortable with. 

So what I’m going to do is this: fankids will be allowed, but there will be an option on the sign up form that states whether or not someone would be comfortable drawing a fankid. 

I’m also going to request that Lloyd x canon ships not be included, as those tend to have a lot of discourse surrounding them and are generally considered uncomfortable. (Lloyd x Oc ships are still fine, however). 

I’m sorry if this is discouraging to anyone with a fankid. I really do love y’alls characters and I love that you wanted to make a kid for your favorite ship, obviously I’ve reblogged some fankids here before. I’ve just never ran an event before and want this to go as smoothly as possible.

Erika was born in the show business, her name is a reference to the Japanese actress Erika Sawajiri, both of her parents work in cinema but they are not very popular. She starts acting at a young age, first when she was 3 years old (didn't have too much script to know she just needed to be cute), then she got minor child roles, figuration, modeling, etc, her parents wanted her to be famous. She loved acting, it's something that she always did after all, and gaining popularity with time she became famous quickly.

The start of an end

Erika accepted a rôle when she was 12 who was from a movie that was supposed to be an adaptation of a novel série. When she played the rôle she was already well known as a child actress, but people are sick and when she was 14 people already viewed are as a woman. The Movies ended up being bad compared to the source material and it came out when she was 14. People were very salty about her accepting a role in an adaptation that was so bad, even more as a well-known actress. Because it's easy to criticize someone who had a perfect career when they made an error the backlash was violent. Her fans weren't happy and fans of the novels series weren't too.

The role became very controversial when the Author of the novels gave her characters sexual scenes. Even if she didn't sign up for future movies for that series, people associated her role with her public persona, and rumors started growing. They were all worse and worse, she loosed many sponsors, any of her roles were destroyed by anti-fans who were disgusted that their cute little Erika was such a gross person. Trying to solve everything she went to a famous talk show to clarify all of the accusations but the people here wanted only one thing, make her apologize for things she didn't do.

It was too much, her parents decided she would stop acting for a while and to take care of her they decided she would study in another country, at Arlington, far away from the media. Sadly, the world is full of psychos.

The accident

What finished Erika's career wasn't her choice of quitting but the car that hit her few months before her first year at Arlington. A degenerate fan stalked her and her family, being convinced they were lovers although she never spoke to him. This 27-year-old gross psycho couldn't handle her moving from the country and tried to kill her with his car. Almost succeeding she ended up paralyzed for a long time. This man was judged and sentenced to jail but his action still impacted the life of the young girl. She spent a long time in the hospital and still have to go back time from time. She has a balance problem and the nerves of her legs sometimes aren't enough so she uses a cane refusing to use a wheelchair since she can still walk, she can't run for long distances tho.

What now?

This is just a backstory, Erika has grown with it, and her life is not an endless circle of sadness. She finally went to Arlington and was able to make some friends she likes and trust, things are turning great, maybe she'll even find love?
